Wild Fires in Cumberland County
A Woods Fire has been going on for days in Cumberland County. Cumberland County contacted Lancaster County Communications about needing help with Fire Police. Ben Herskowitz (Lancaster County EMA) contacted Lancaster County Fire Police Coordinator Merle Weaver for assistance with Traffic control ASAP for the Cumberland County Fire. Merle reached out to all Fire police via Email blast and the Telegram app, referencing the need for fire police for the woods fire assisting with traffic control and road closures. At this time Cumberland County is not requesting anymore Fire Police units to the Scene. thank you all who were able to deploy & serve.

The Thompson Hollow Fire
The Thompson Hollow Fire has burned 2,248 acres and is now 64% contained, according to DCNR. This fire started around 5 p.m. Wednesday, in the area of Shippensburg and Baltimore roads in Southampton Township.

The Hammond Rocks Fire
The Hammonds Rocks Fire has consumed 470 acres and is now 95% contained, according to DCNR. This fire broke out around noon Thursday in the area of Ridge and Cold Springs roads.
